Yesterday’s workouts renamed to “Tower One” and “Tower Two”

While writing the workouts you all did yesterday we tried to come up with a good name for them to memorialize and pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the World Trade Center bombing 12 years ago, but we couldn’t seem to come up with something that would fit. While talking about the workouts this morning with some of the guys who did them yesterday, both the Boot Camp and the Warrior workouts, we all agreed that they were right up there in the top ten hardest workouts and they definitely deserved to be named. We went though some names and almost settled on “Freedom 1” and “Freedom 2”, and then it dawned on me that since there were two workouts and there were two towers that fell, the names of “Tower One” and “Tower Two” were fitting.

While this could be a very somber and down moment while remembering all the lives lost, I think that in this time we need to pay respects to those who lost their lives, but we also need to be thankful for our freedom and physical abilities. We need to be thankful that we have the ability to come to the gym and push hard through these workouts. Many people around the globe do not have the political and personal liberties we do in the US, and right here in our own country there are many who cannot financially afford to belong to a gym like Pride Conditioning and there are also many people, civilians and veterans who fought for our freedom and the freedom of others who are disabled and not physically able to “enjoy” the workouts we “enjoy” doing.

In the memory of those who lost their lives, those who gave their lives trying to save others, those who fought for our freedom, and those around the world who do not have the freedoms we take for granted everyday, for all those people we dedicate yesterday’s workouts to them.
